Maciej Jakimiec has the MA degree in management of enterprises in the fast-changing business environment.  At present, Maciej is responsible for  management of Global Hardware Solutions (market leader in the field of IT Asset Management), as well as Jakimiec & Partners (investments, e-commerce market). Since 2005, Maciej is also fulfilling the function of the President of Copernicus Project Foundation, focusing on series of stratospheric missions. He is the creator of the concept of MiniSAT educational program, targeted at schools in Poland. Initiator of the European Balloon Project, in result of which some cross-border stratospheric missions were realised (Germany, Switzerland). Amateur radio operator with 30-year experience in radio communication, including the satellite one (SP2SGF, SR0FLY).

Maciej is an author of publications on the history of the global “Near Space”. He is prompt to make conference presentations on nearly 40 stratospheric missions realised in Poland and Europe. As of 2016, the the culmination point was receiving the first prize for the best scientific research project in the Global Space Balloon Challenge, which was granted to the JADE stratospheric project.
