Dr Monika Wiśniewska
She is the Director of the Innovation Centre called the Mill of Knowledge, in Toruń. It is a modern institution of informal education – the first such one within the Kuyavian- Pomeranian Region – and Dr Monika Wiśniewska is responsible for creating it and for making it accessible to visitors as well as for its continual progression. She is a physicist-optoelectrotechnician by profession, holding also the title of Doctor of Physics Sciences within the field of physics of solid state. Dr Monika Wiśniewska participated in numerous domestic and international research projects, during which she was employed in, among other things, a project of constructing a prototype of positron, emissive CAT scanner. In Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the USA, she participated in devising and testing new scintillators for detecting gamma, X-ray and neutron radiations. Her spare time she takes for tourism and mountain hikes. She is passionate about foreign cultures and literature.
